Book exert. The Mishnah

Having scoured the Bible for references to the temple, Alec came to the conclusion that really it told him very little, so he began to read the Mishnah, searching this for the information he needed. Other sources led him to the only Roman commentator contemporary with Herod's temple, Josephus. He searched these texts too, and came to the conclusion, as had others before him, that they gave contradictory accounts of the temple. This was a problem, considering he had decided to build as accurate a model of the temple as he could, and because he was engaged on a physical, interpretive version of the temple, embodied in wood metal and plastic and not confined to the pages of a book, it lead him to make conclusions that are purely hypothetical version of the temple could not.
